DOGS, They come in many breeds.. Do your reasearch before choosing your new dog OR AT LEAST BEFORE CRITICIZING A BREED

First off, credit goes to ~chrisco97 for the stamp template
and images are from stock websites

Okay a little education for idiots.
Its one thing to get a dog you know nothing about for the novelty of it's reputation or out of impulse etc only to dump it off somewhere because you couldnt handle it. That alone just pisses me the fuck off. But to read stamps opposing certain breeds of dogs because of what you hear on the news with out having any knowledge of the breed what so ever is really just crawling under my skin.

every breed of dog is different. They were all bred for different reasons. When bringing home a new dog, you must be aware of the breed to avoid problems in the future.
Remember, YOU as a dog owner are responsible for not only the health and well being of your pet, but the behaviors as well. Your dog cannot be blamed for your negligence.
Don't understand? Okay, look at our society, everything is man made, you can not expect a dog to just know how to behave. Its the same with children. They arent born understanding how everything works, its taught. Same with dogs, you are their parents, you must teach them.

Now as I said earlier, every dog is different, every breed was created for something different. It is important to understand the breed of your choice to be prepared for what it might do and be ready for it. Most breeds have their reputations, your knowledge of the breed should not be based solely on that.
for example, pitbulls have bad reputations, and its unfortunate because not all pitbulls deserve the title for being a dangerous animal.
But good reputations dont help either. For example the border collie (being my favorite breed), has a good reputation. They are known for being the most intelligent breed of dog, and are great working dogs. This is a double edged sword for the breed because it is true they are intelligent attracts the less intelligent, people, to get one of this dogs assuming theyre getting a 'genius' perfect pet. What research tells you about the border collie is that they are high energy dogs that need a lot of space for running. Because theyre so intelligent, with out the right guidance and training, they can literally destroy your house, nip at your kids, and just drive you crazy. Border collies are smart dogs and theyre eager to please, they will work around the clock. If you can not work them, they will find ways to work themselves, this unfortunately gets them in trouble.
In conclusion, border collies arent for everyone. This goes with ANY dog. You need to do your research and find the dog that is right for you. Because if you dont, the dog will suffer in the end, and guess whos fault it is:
YOURS.

So my point: Learn about the breed before you choose it,so the dog doesnt have to suffer and you dont have to look stupid. AND to not hear retards from the peanut gallery input their thoughts as well.

I greatly agree with this! So many good animals are wasted because the idots whom get them havnt the slightest idea how to properly provide for their needs. Even if they don't dump the dog at a shelter, keeping it is even worse. The dog just suffers slowly without the right care. Before even going into the breeds, people just get dogs in genral without a clue how to train, socialize, or take care of them. I know someone who's made a mistake like this. She was living in an apartment at the time, and she rescued a border collie. This poor dog destroyed all of their belongings because she was never there enough to exercise and train it. The dog was later dumped at a shelter, and this woman regrets what she did deeply. Now she has a house, and has rescued a very sweet border collie/boxer cross that she takes great care of.

I can't stand people whom just assume that pit bull type dogs all need to be destroyed due to their breeding. It's very true they are powerful and when attacking, very lethal. Though I've encountered plenty of pure and mixed pit-bull type dogs that are very well socialized and affectionate. I'm also for keeping dogs away from siduations were they would be at a higher risk of attacking. For example, i would never leave a child with ANY larger dog that could inflict damage. I've also noticed a good portion of these "vicious pit bull attacks" are with dogs that were chained, or locked up and escaped. Basic rule of any dog ownership, don't just let your pet exist outside in your backyard with no room to move. The dog will become very territorial, and possibly escape and attack someone. A neighbor of mine has a springer spainel that is always chained up in the front yard, and has bitten a few children. No one really seems to care because it's bites have not caused any damage, but whenever I drive past the poor dog I just feel terrible for it.

Not every dog will conform to it's breed standards, though. Each dog is an individual with a unique personality, so somtimes the dog may be unlike what you were looking for. (if your looking for a dog solely based on it's breed.) But of course, the breed will give a good idea of what behavior you will most likely see in the dog. I think it's important to appreciate all the great breeds, and great individual dogs. :D

Great point you make here. reminds me of what I learned about chihuahuas some time ago.

They're maybe small, but they definitely aren't little huggle huggle babies in their own heads. More like if chicuahuas were really big dogs with all other breed-specific (mental) features the same as they are now, they would be very likely hated and feared more than rottweilers, pittbulls, dobermans & co combined.
but they're so small and cute people don't give a shit and use them as decoration.

thank you, yes that is a good point i might add that in. I particularly dont favor the breed, but I certainly dont blame them for who they are. People baby them waay to much and it makes them the way they are. People think that babying a dog = being a good dog owner. I had this argument with someone about pitbulls, they said "well people love their pitbulls and they still turned out nasty" well yes, too much love can make a monster, you have to be a parent and have authority, these little dogs get so spoiled rotten they become nightmares. same with kids.
thats an excellent point

Its good this is out there. People like lizzie-doodle and riza-izumi are examples of people who have lack of knowledge of everything with animals. and riza-izumi especially is an example of an adolescent child deeply influenced by the media. Her stamps are clear examples of the lack of knowledge of the breed. People are the real threat, to both people and animals in many ways not just violence.

lizzie doodle isnt just drawn in by the media shes just biased against dogs in general, so you cant take idiots like that seriously, she doesnt make a case. Riza izumi, i like her as a friend but she is also just a shadow of the media. She doesnt believe that people can be fault all the time for their pets actions, i know the animalaboo stamp was made against me. and thats fine, at least i can stand my ground and back up my arguments with facts. She doesnt use any facts. This is all in her mind and her conclusions are created by combining what she sees with what she thinks rather then taking the time to research pitbulls, people psychology, dog behavior, and general ownership of pets. Of course if she had done this research then she wouldnt really have a case against pitbulls other then the fact she just doesnt like them.

haha ya lizzie-doodle is stupid. shes just a biased bitch. Riza-Izumi is a child who needs to grow up is all. She has no understanding of dogs and how things work. Her story of the potbelly pig is proof she knows nothing, pitbulls were bred to hunts animals like that it was acting out of instinct and put down for nothing. Would you kill a lion for hunting a deer?

shes a biased bitch and shes a hypocrite!
riza hopefully learn someday. i have nothing against her but she does need to really learn. pitbulls having aggression problems stem from all the things wrong with people. its not just pitbulls. many animals are victims. its a shame. i hope riza will understand. but she is being childish. She needs to take on a more mature subject more maturely, she'll never convince anyone in that state shes in now.

There are many websites that tell about dogs breeds in general. Just google them. That is what we did before we adopted our Jack Russel.

Learning about dog breeds (and anything for that matter) is so simple nowadays, I don't understand how people can be so lazy and stupid :(
